"Secure Your Load" Ordinance

In order to enforce this ordinance, as of November 1, 2001, the minimum rate at Knott Landfill and the Transfer Stations is $20. The additional revenue this rate incurs will be used for litter control. IF YOUR LOAD IS PROPERLY SECURED, A $10 REBATE IS GIVEN. Please view the following pictures for an idea of what is acceptable and what is not.

	The $10 rebate would NOT be given for this load.  Even though some large pieces of material are acting as a barrier for other large pieces, small debris can easily fall or fly out of this pickup bed.
As you can guess, this load is secured perfectly.  The $10 rebate WOULD be given to this customer.
	Even though this load's sides and bottom are secure, yard debris can easily be blown from the bed of this truck.  The rebate would NOT be given for this load.
This truck is hauling ONLY secured garbage bags.  The bags must NOT be above the sides of the truck.  The rebate WOULD be given to this customer.
	Although this customer secured his load with ropes, it still presents a hazard to other drivers, and small debris will find its way to the road.  The rebate would NOT be given to this customer.
