This portion of the Long Range website is devoted to reports, maps, and information on the City of Redmond's Urban Reserve Area project. The purpose of a Redmond Urban Reserve Area is to identify land to accommodate city growth and protect it for the orderly, economic and efficient provision of urban services when these lands are included in the urban growth boundary. Responding to a forecasted population of 45,725 by 2025 and 78,777 by 2050, the City determined its needs for additional residential, commercial, and industrial lands over the next fifty years.
Current Events:
On September 7, the Board of County Commissioners adopted an amendment to the County Comprehensive Plan and established a 5,661 acre urban reserve area for the City of Redmond. The Redmond urban reserve area becomes effective on December 12, 2005.
