Family Support

Family Support is designed to serve families who are caring for their child with a developmental disability at home by providing the supports necessary to maintain their unity, integrity and competence.  The purpose of the Family Support Program is to assist these families in obtaining individualized family centered services in order to meet their special needs and to strengthen their ability to provide care.

To be eligible the child must be under 18 years of age, live with their family or return to their family as a result of the program and meet the State definition of developmental disability.  Due to limited funding a wait list for service is in place.

Some of the services available through Family Support include:

            -Behavioral consultation

            -Community inclusion

            -Environmental adaptations

            -Family Caregiver supports

            -In-home supports

            -Special diets

            -Specialized equipment and supplies

            -Transportation
